Our no waste wrapping cloths are inspired by the age old Japanese tradition of furoshiki.

Our fabric gift wraps are made from hand block printed 100% fine cotton and are double sided. In a Constant effort to eliminate waste we are using all our end of roll fabrics to create our sustainable gift wraps both eliminating waste in our process and encouraging waste free & plastic free gift giving.

For inspiration search Furoshiki on youtube for endless inspiration and 'how to' videos!

Most wrapping paper is not recyclable so this is a great way to make celebrations more sustainable.

The art of block printing in India has not changed for hundreds of years and is a craft that is passed down though generations of printers who, with incredible accuracy and skill, are able to create the most intricate designs. Each layer of colour is carved in mirror image into a woodblock and these blocks are then used one at a time to apply the design onto the surface of the fabric which is stretched out along a long printing table. This level of handmade craftsmanship is something that we at Blocked by Clark love to see and wish to continue supporting.

Kela is the Hindi word for banana and is a heritage print using the banana leaf motif. The banana leaf has strong cultural ties in india, especially in the more tropical regions of the South. It is often used instead of a plate when serving a typical Thali lunch and plays many roles in food preparation. This design is inspired by my wonderful tropical memories of the south of India and features a large repeat banana leaf motif in calming greens on a white background typical of Sanganeri prints.

Due to the handmade process variation in the colour and print work should be expected, so no two designs will ever be exactly the same making each piece unique!
